Dayton teacher heads to all-star game

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton Public School teacher received word on Tuesday from the Cincinnati Reds that she would represent the team in an all-star teacher campaign.

Rachel Banks teaches at Wogaman 5-8 School in the Dayton. She will join one winner representing each of the 30 MLB Clubs to be included in All-Star Week activities and recognized during the pre-game ceremony of the 2014 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15 with pre-game ceremonies beginning at 7:30 p.m.

“All to often when you are in a position of service, whether you are a firefighter, police officer or teacher, you don’t get that same awe as a celebrity. So to be treated as a celebrity, this whole VIP experience has been amazing,” said Banks.
