WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A standoff between police, SWAT and a suspect ends peacefully.

Authorities surrounded an apartment off Royal Ridge Drive in West Carrollton around 10:30 Tuesday night. Police said they came to the home to issue a warrant out of Illinois.

They say the suspect, 28-year-old Robert Robbins, slammed the door in the officers’ faces and locked himself inside of his home.

Police called in SWAT for backup, and about an hour later the suspect left the home and was arrested according to police.

During the standoff homes were evacuated nearby.

Robbins is in the Montgomery County Jail awaiting extradition to Illinois.
