Homeowner says he lost all in fire

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton homeowner told 2 NEWS he lost all he owns in fire that destroyed his north Dayton house Friday evening.

When firefighters arrived at the scene in the 600 block of Rockford Avenue around 7:30, they found the two story house to be fully involved in flames and smoke.

They said they immediately went on the defensive and worked to save the houses on either side.

Still, both of those houses were damaged by the heat of the fire and smoke.

The owner of the home destroyed was not home when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but fire officials said they consider it suspicious.

No injuries were reported.
