Another round of severe weather could be in the area before the weekend is over.
The weather will become active again heading into Sunday, says Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brian Davis.
“Warmer and more humid air will return to the Miami Valley on Saturday. There is even the possibility of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm, but the better chance of rain will happen on Sunday,” Davis predicts.
You will notice the increase in humidity on Sunday, says Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik. It will be quite muggy with rain likely, as a slow-moving front drops in. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be likely, some producing heavy rain, strong winds, and even hail.
“We are already smack dab in the middle of an elevated risk for severe weather Sunday, so stay tuned to the forecast,” advises Jarosik.
Looking beyond Sunday, an unseasonably cool air mass is poised to punch into the region for the middle part of next week at statistically the hottest time of year.
