Investigation into industrial fire just beginning

HARRISON TWP., (Ohio) -Firefighters remained on the scene of a large industrial fire early Saturday morning, hours after it first started.

A few firefighters spent the night keeping an eye on the smoldering wreckage that was once Alpine Metal Finishing, making sure no hot spots appeared.

One of the biggest concerns battling the flames was keeping them from spreading to an adjacent building.

People in the area reported hearing loud explosions when the fire started. We’re told those were five-gallon barrels containing flammable liquids exploding.

The fire chief tells us they are not ruling out anything suspicious at this point.

Investigators are asking if you saw anything that looked suspicious out here before the fire started, call the Harrison Township Fire Department.
