Man assaulted while pumping gas

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating an assault at a Dayton gas station.

The victim told police he was at the Valero station on South Smithville Road around 1 a.m. Saturday morning with his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s sister. He said while he was pumping gas, another car with at least six people inside pulled up beside him. He said a man got out, yelled at him and attacked him, and punched him in the face.

The victim told police while he was being assaulted, two women in the other car got out of the vehicle, grabbed his girlfriend’s 14-year-old sister and hit and scratched her.

The victim got away and drove to Miami Valley Hospital to be treated for injuries to his face. The 14-year-old was also treated for her injuries.

The victim said he knows the suspect.

Police are still investigating.
