SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) –If you build it, they will come. That’s what the Champion City Kings baseball organization is hoping with the new installation of a video scoreboard.

The scoreboard will be 34 feet tall, and feature an 11 foot high video monitor.

The Champion City Kings are a member of the “Prospect League”–a wooden bat summer league for college baseball players.

The video monitor will allow for video play-back, commercials, and other in-game promotions to be shown to the audience.

Construction teams are hoping to have the scoreboard finished by Thursday.

The Kings are on a 4-game road trip, and will return to Springfield on Monday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
