SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A Clark County mom is accused being high on drugs in front of her child.

Police say Buffie Caudill, 36, is charged with child endangering.

A detective says he was greeted at the door of the woman’s Springfield-Xenia Road home Tuesday evening by a scared 10-year-old boy. Detectives were at the home following up on an arson investigation.

The detective says in a court affidavit that he saw the boy’s mother and another man on the couch who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The officer went on to report that he saw drugs and paraphernalia on the couch around them.

Caudill was arrested and taken to the Clark County Jail.

She could spend six months in jail if convicted.
