Indiana University student onboard downed flight

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WDTN) – An Indiana University doctoral student is reported to be one of the 298 people killed on the Malaysia Airlines flight that was brought down in Ukraine Thursday.

2 NEWS sister station, WISH-TV, reports that Karlijn Keijzer, 25, was onboard the ill-fated flight. IU confirmed to WISH that she was a doctoral student in the chemistry department.

She was from Amsterdam, Netherlands and earned her Master’s Degree from IU.
