Man attacked outside Dayton Islamic center

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is recovering after being attacked outside a Dayton Islamic Center.

Police were called to the Islamic Society of Greater Dayton located at 26 Josie Street around 3 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they met with the victim who had dried blood on his hands and shirt along with several cuts on his face. He told police he was outside the center talking to two men about recent events in Libya when one of the men became angry and punched him five to six times in the face. They then ran from the area.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for suspects.
