OVI checkpoint nets 2 drunk driving arrests


BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) — An OVI checkpoint in Greene County nets two arrests for drunk driving.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Fairborn Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s Office held an OVI checkpoint on Colonel Glenn Highway east of North Fairfield Road from 11 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday.

A total of 235 drivers passed through the checkpoint.

Eight drivers who has consumed alcohol were evaluated for impairment. Two drivers were arrested for OVI.

One person was arrested for driving under suspension.

The OVI checkpoint was funded by state and federal grants.
