DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is behind bars after police said he broke into a vacant house and then led them on a chase.

Frank Morgan, 44, was arrested on charges of breaking and entering and obstructing official business.

Police were called to a house in the 1400 block of Tampa Avenue Friday around 1 p.m. after someone reported seeing two men break in.

When officers arrived, they heard a loud banging coming from the back of the house. They went to the back yard and saw Morgan jump the fence and run west in an alley. Officers ordered Morgan to stop, but he continued running. They pursued him from the alley to South Euclid Avenue. Morgan eventually stopped on West Stewart Street and laid down on the ground.

Morgan was arrested and booked into jail.

Officers did not find any other suspects.
