Family escapes flames when Xenia home catches fire

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) — A family escapes flames when their Xenia home caught fire overnight.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 2300 block of Pembury Drive after 2 a.m. Sunday.

When crews arrived, they found heavy flames and smoke coming from the back half of the house.

According to officials, the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen.

Everyone inside the home was able to make it out safely. No injuries were reported.

Xenia crews had mutual aid from Beavercreek and Xenia Township helping them fight the fire.

No word on the amount of damage caused by the fire.
