Arrest made for storage facility break-ins

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Clark County Sheriff deputies are investigating several break-ins at a storage facility.

Five people told deputies their trailers were broken into at Payless Storage at 111 Tremont City Road. Three people said property was stolen, while the other two were not sure.

Police arrested a renter at the facility after his entry code was used at unusual times. The facility manager also accessed the renter’s unit and told deputies he saw some of the stolen property.

Michael Wells, 53, of Springfield, is now charged with theft and criminal damaging.

He was arraigned Monday morning.
