XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The Greene County Combined Health District is once again to providing a breastfeeding station at their trailer at the Greene County Fair.

The trailer, which is located near the picnic shelter between the assembly hall and administration building, will offer a rocker that a mom can use either inside or outside the trailer.

The trailer will also have information about Health District programs and breastfeeding.

In addition, one lucky mother who uses the breastfeeding station will win a handmade quilt, created and donated by Wendi Kirsch, a GRADS teacher at the Greene County Career Center, and a community breastfeeding supporter.

“Ohio Law gives a mother the right to breastfeed her baby in any location that she has the right to be,” says Nancy Cohen, WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator at the Greene County Combined Health District, “but sometimes it is challenging to find a comfortable place to relax with a baby. Our breastfeeding station is designed to meet that challenge and help a breastfeeding family have a fabulous day at the fair. We are so grateful to Wendi for creating the quilt and helping us to make breastfeeding families feel even more welcome at the fair!”

The Greene County Fair runs July 27 – August 2.
