TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A high speed chase across city streets in Trotwood ended Thursday with one person dead and two others hurt.

It all started near Salem Avenue and Olive Road Thursday afternoon.  It ended about half a mile away at Olive Road and Shiloh Springs Road.

The area was roped off for hours as the investigation was conducted.

Trotwood police confirmed the person who died was a pedestrian walking in the area.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies were handling a drug investigation earlier in the day. Before they could talk to the man they were after, he rammed two police cruisers and took off.

At one point police lost him, then spotted the car in a driveway in the Sycamore Woods neighborhood.

Two people inside the car were taken to the hospital.

There were times the chase exceeded 100 mph.

People in the area saw the car crash. One woman’s instinct was to check on the people in the car.

“I’m a nurse. I was going to help. I was told not to cross the yellow tape, because it’s a dangerous scene. It’s sad,” said Susan Lord.

Police couldn’t tell us how seriously hurt the two people are. They’re still trying to find out more about the person who died.

The sheriffs office is handling details of the drug investigation.
