Ambulance and car collide in Champaign Co.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — An ambulance on a medical call finds itself at the center of an accident.

The crash happened on U.S. 36 and State Route 559 Saturday afternoon.

According to officials, a car was heading westbound on U.S. 36 when it collided with a medic heading southbound on 559.

The ambulance was on a medical run and hadn’t picked up a patient yet.

The driver and a passenger in the ambulance were not hurt. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. No word on whether anyone will be cited.

The ambulance will be out of service for a while.
