TROTWOOD, OHIO (WDTN) – A family celebrated the life of their young one gone too son, after a devastating dog attack last Sunday.

Loved ones gathered at Deja Vue Hall to raise money for 7-month-old Jonathon Quarles Junior.

Quarles Junior died after a fatal dog mauling at his grandmother’s house.

Police said the woman took her eyes off child for a moment when the deadly attack happened.

Saturday night loved ones gathered for a benefit to honor the little boy.

The infant’s mom was also present, still shaken, but supported by her family.

“Well, my cousin’s holding up pretty well. I know it’s hard. It’s hard for the whole family but we’;re trying to get through it together as much as we can. We would really appreciate it you guys can make it out. It’s such a beautiful thing going on right now and however you can help that’ll be awesome,” said the infant victim’s great cousin Brittany Gibson.

People have already started to donate for funeral services.

A go-fund me page has been made to help the family pay for the expenses.

Saturday night’s event at Deja Vue Hall auctioned off items and provided food and dance to the community.

“My cousin has the OMG Fashion Boutique we have plenty of different things going. So many things I can’t even name them all,”  Gibson said.

Despite services already planned, the family says they’re still in need of more funds.

“Again, they can go to the go fund me website and just search for baby Johnathan and we’ll probably still, be collecting donations probably up til the first service on Monday,” said Nicole Vaughn, OMG Fashion Boutique owner and great cousin of Quarles.

The family has already raised more than $500 through donations.

A funeral will be held for the infant on Monday.
