TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — Hundreds gathered at Hara Arena Saturday to support victims and families affected by gang, street, and domestic violence.
“Living to Move Forward” was the theme of the anti-violence rally.
People shared stories of survival and speakers discussed ways to deal with grief and to channel feelings into something positive.
“This is a day of healing today for those who have had family members affected by victims of crime,” said Carolina Mallard of Victory in Power Ministries. “Get involved, become aware, know your neighbors, know what’s going on. We live next to people and we don’t even know their names.”
Members of law enforcement, the State Attorney General’s Office, and local leaders gathered with attendees outside for a balloon launch honoring victims of crime.
