DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton grocery store was broken into and police are on the lookout for suspects.

Police were called to the Main Stoppe at 30 Main Street downtown around 5 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found the pane of glass to the front door shattered. Police said it appeared the suspect reached inside through the hole in the glass and opened the door using the handle latch.

Officers said the suspect suffered some type of injury when breaking in because they found blood on the side of the metal-clad door. They also found blood in a small office where a safe is kept.

Police reported that it didn’t appear that the suspect took anything from the office or the store.

The incident remains under investigation.
