MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — United Rehabilitation Services kicked off its sales for the 11th annual Rubber Duck Regatta Saturday.

The kickoff event was held at Kroger at Austin Landing Saturday morning.

The Rubber Duck Regatta supports vital programs and services for local children and adults with disabilities. The event will take place September 13 in conjunction with the Taste of Miami Valley at River Scape.

At least 20,000 rubber ducks will be dropped by a crane for a controlled race to the finish for seven prizes.

This year’s grand prize is a 7-bedroom houseboat vacation with a ski boat from Norris Lake Houseboat Rentals. Other prizes include a $1,500 travel certificate from AAA, $1,000 gift card to Kroger, $1,000 gift card to Watson’s, two Southwest tickets, $500 to James Free Jewelers, and a two-in-one detachable laptop from Computer Creations.

Ducks can be adopted for $5 or $25 for Quack Pack of six ducks. Each Quack Pack will receive a free sub from Jersey Mike’s. If you would like to adopt a rubber duck, you can visit area Kroger stores or call 937-235-3825. You can also go to the website by clicking here.

All proceeds benefit the programs and therapies for adults and children with disabilities in our area.
