Police were called to the 3500 block of North Main Street around 2 a.m. Sunday on reports of shots fired at the Ashwood Lounge.

Police have identified the victim as 32-year-old Charles Burnett Junior.

When officers arrived, they found Burnett with a gunshot wound. Officials performed CPR on him and he was rushed to Miami Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Upon further investigation, police also located another victim who had been shot. He was also taken to the hospital. No word on the extent of his injuries.

According to police, the incident began as an argument that trickled outside into the street and then escalated to a shooting.

“There’s been several fights at this location previously. We’ve responded to shots calls in the area, but as far as it being a problem establishment, it has not been declared as a nuisance,” said Dayton Police Sgt. John Zimmerman.

No arrests have been made.

The incident remains under investigation.
