DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton area has been fortunate to produce great athletes, many of whom have gone on to the professional level.

Miami Heat point guard, Norris Cole is one who is showing gratitude to his hometown by sponsoring a basketball camp beginning Monday, August 4-7, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Cole’s love for Dayton is shown not only by his sponsorship of his camp, but also for his innovative way to help kids get there.

He is suggesting that families who can’t afford to get a kid to his camp can use “crowd funding” and can do so by visiting

“I love the City of Dayton. I believe the youth should have a great opportunity for positive role models,” says Cole. “I want to let them {kids} know I am from the same neighborhood, walk the same streets they walk, same classroom, same teachers they had and they can make it.”
