DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Pop up thunderstorms are expected through the afternoon Wednesday in the Miami Valley.

Storm Team 2 says scattered storms could produce small hail as they move through.

“Although we may not have any watches or warnings issued, the storms could still be strong enough to produce pea-sized hail and wind,” said Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings.

Winds could gust up 40 mph in some areas.

“Most of the rain will fall in the areas of Dayton southward,” said Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brian Davis.  “The showers will slowly dissipate after sunset.”

The low overnight is a brisk 57.  The high Thursday is 80.
