Sheriff investigating rabbit deaths as animal cruelty

EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Preble County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the deaths of nine rabbits at the Preble County Fair as a case of animal cruelty.

The rabbits were part of a 4-H display. They were found dead in their pens Thursday night.

The sheriff says they “are reported to have been killed” over a period of several hours.

The sheriff is asking that anyone with information about this case call the sheriff’s office at 937-456-6262.

No other animals were involved.
