Partial roof collapse at century old building

PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – A one block of stretch of North Main Street in Piqua is closed after a partial roof collapse at a 100-year-old building.

Our partners at the Piqua Daily Call report that a man riding his bicycle Wednesday morning noticed falling bricks and debris from the Piqua Milling Company building.

The fire department is assessing the damage now and will keep that portion of the road closed until it is deemed safe for residents.

Structural engineers were called into check the building out.

The Daily Call reports that a bike path along the Great Miami River behind the building is also closed until further notice.
