KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – An apparent heavy foot on the accelerator sent a car crashing into a house in Kettering Thursday evening.

It happened in the 5200 block of Ackerman Blvd. about 7:15 when the driver backed out of his driveway, crossed the road and slammed into the living room of the house across the street.

The three people in the car were not injured.

No one in the house was hurt.

A structural engineer was called to assess the damage and said the house is temporarily condemned.

Police said the 77-year-old male driver will be cited for failure to control.
