Springfield police arrest sidewalk shooting suspect

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – Springfield police have a man in custody for a shooting Tuesday morning.

Detectives arrested James L. Edwards, 25, after he turned himself in to police at headquarters.

Eric Lewis, 37, was shot on the sidewalk at the intersection of Oakwood Place and South Lowry Avenue.

He was flown to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

Edwards faces felonious assault charges.

He is being held in the Clark County Jail. He is scheduled into court Friday morning.

The case will then go before a grand jury.
