DAYTON, OHIO (WDTN) – A recent drug raid has 2 NEWS asking what’s being done to deal with the Miami Valley’s heroin problem.
The FBI SWAT team joined Dayton police at 3419 Haberer Avenue, where an unknown amount of drugs were seized.
“Through our enforcement efforts we’re trying to curb and stop the flow of drugs into the city,” says Dayton Police Narcotics Lt. Joe Wiesman.
We wanted to know what else can make a difference in reducing the amount of heroin on the streets.
“It’s going to take a lot of people willing to step up and get off the drugs,” says Wiesman.
Police say partnerships with other agencies do help, but one of their biggest partners is the community.
Only with its help can area agencies handle the heroin epidemic.
“It’s through the citizens calling and giving us good information that we’re able to impact that,” Wiesman says.
