WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WDTN) – The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office says it has a man in custody it believes is responsible for a rash of burglaries.

Mark Ball, 51, of Lima, is in the Allen County Jail awaiting charges.

Deputies in Allen, Auglaize, Shelby and Logan counties have been working together to solve several similar burglaries in their counties.

Deputies say the victims all gave similar descriptions of the suspect who struck their homes. The victims were home when the burglar broke in to the homes.

Investigators say 15 homes were burglarized over a four week period.

“We have been out in force for over two weeks trying to catch who was responsible for these burglaries,” said Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon. “Numerous man hours have been spent patrolling the county. This is a great break in the case and it will help put the residents at ease.”

Deputies are working now to connect all the crimes. In the meantime, Ball is being held in the Allen County Jail.
