WPAFB, Ohio (WDTN) – Wright-Patterson Air Force Base confirmed Friday that an airman was demoted after pleading guilty to a drug charge.

A base spokesperson says Teresa Hand was reduced in rank by two pay grades to airman first class from a staff sergeant.

Hand appeared in at Wright-Patterson court this week on a charge of wrongful use of a controlled substance.

She pleaded guilty to using heroin one time.

Spokesperson Daryl Mayer says Hand must also forfeit six months of pay and be restricted to base property for two months.

Hand worked for the 88th Medical Support Squadron.
