Hundreds celebrate German heritage at Carillon Park

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Hundreds of people are celebrating their German heritage this weekend at Dayton’s annual Germanfest

Picnic.

This year marks the 31st year for the event held at Carillon Park.

The picnic features German food, drinks, and music.

2 NEWS Today Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik emceed Saturday’s fashion show.

“This is one of the favorite parts of the Germanfest Picnic. Everyone gets to show off their clothes they bought in Germany or here at our vendors. And just have a really good time,” said Judy Schneider who is the Fashion Show Coordinator.

The festival runs until 11 p.m. Saturday night and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, starting with a Polka Mass at 11 a.m.
