Plane lands in Darke County after smoke fills cockpit

VERSAILLES, Ohio (WDTN) — A plane makes an emergency landing at the Darke County Airport after the cockpit fills with smoke.

It happened before 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the airport along State Route 121.

The Darke County Fire Chief said a belt broke in the engine compartment and caused some smoke in the plane.

Fire officials said there were three people on board the plane.
