Veterans receive hero’s welcome after honor flight

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN)- Saturday, veterans experienced an emotional homecoming, as th group of heroes from the Miami Valley arrived home from our nation’s capitol.

The veterans returned from their honor flight trip.

The program gives veterans the opportunity to visit their war memorials in Washington D.C.

One family 2 NEWS spoke with was there in support of not only their father and husband, who both served in Vietnam, but for all brave service members.

“It’s a job that I don’t know if I would be able to do it. And I am proud that they did it for us.”

Hundreds cheered as the Korean, Vietnam, and World War Two-era service men moved through the airport terminal.

Several said it was a way to say thank you for their service and protection.
