Bicyclist taken to hospital following accident

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating after a man on his bicycle ends up in the middle of a Dayton road.

Officials were called to the intersection of Huffman Avenue and Jersey Street just after 12 a.m. Sunday.

Officers met with the victim, 34-year-old Justin Centers who was lying in the road. Police said Centers’ face was covered in blood and his left leg was fractured.

Police said there were no marks indicating the man had been hit or run over by a car.

Centers said he didn’t know how he ended up off of his bike in the road.

One witness told police he was driving west on Huffman when he saw a bicycle at the last second in his path and ran over it. He said Centers wasn’t lying in the street at that time. When he turned around, he said that’s when he found Centers in the middle of the street next to another vehicle.

Centers was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.

Police reported the victim’s injuries were consistent with only falling off a bicycle.
