DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man was sent to the hospital after he said he was bitten by a dog.
Police were called to Miami Valley Hospital Sunday around 7 a.m. and met with 53-year-old Martin Richardson.
Richardson told police he was walking through the parking lot of Target Ministries located at Xenia Avenue and Keowee Street when two dogs attacked him. He said one of the dogs bit him in the left forearm. Richardson said the dog latched on to his arm and shook its head from side to side.
Richardson punched the dog in the nose several times and was able to break free and get away.
Police noted the victim had deep lacerations on his forearm and blood on his pants and shirt. Officers said Richardson was also in a lot of pain.
According to the police report, Richardson described the dogs as two pit bulls. He said the one that bit him was white with black on the tip of its tail and a big head.
