ARCANUM, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Bomb Squad was called to a car crash Sunday.  One of the victims claimed a bomb was in her car.

The crash was at State Route 49 near East Alternate 49 at 10:00 p.m.

Medics found Trevor Botsford, 26, his wife Killian, 26 and their two children hiding in a field.

The parents told medics they were hiding because they were being followed by someone who wanted to harm them.

Killian Botsford then said there was a bomb in their car. The bomb squad did find suspicious wires dangling from the dashboard, but quickly determined it was not a bomb.

The family was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but they are fine.

Police also found no evidence that the family was being followed.

State Route 49 was closed for nearly two hours while the investigation was conducted. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
