SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) – Golfers hit the links in support our U.S. military members injured in the line of duty.

More than 100 golf tournaments were held Monday across the country to benefit Wounded Warrior Project.

One of the fundraisers was held at Heatherwood Golf Club in Springboro.

“We’ve got a gentleman who was over the gulf war and I’ve got two boys who are in,” said golfer Jack Risher. “We just feel this is something we need to give back. its an awesome event.”

This year more than $570,000 was raised nationwide.

About $15,000 of that came from Heatherwood.
