Kettering native goes to prison for baby’s death

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – A Kettering native will spend 21 years in prison for the death of his ex-fiancee’s infant.

The crime happened in New York where Gary McKenzie, 22, pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

McKenzie threw a 7-month-old into a bouncy seat, causing the child to strike his head against the wall.

He will be on parole for five years following his prison sentence.
