Expect rain popping up through the afternoon

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Heavy downpours of rain are making for a wet start to the work week.

Parts of Darke County got an inch and a half of rain in just over an hour Monday morning.

“Heavy rainfall is the biggest threat as we move through the day,” said Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings. “A low pressure system is moving through Ohio, so I’d say more of us will see rain shortly after noon.”

The showers and storms will stick around through the early evening hours, tapering off after 8:00 p.m.

Hastings says the rain is setting us up for another week of below normal temperatures. Highs will be in the 70s through Friday.
