GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – The Darke County Sheriff’s Office released new details about a fatal crash Sunday.

Deputies identified the victim as John Neal, 39, of Anderson, Indiana.

They say he and Rory Wampler, 40, of Ansonia, were riding in a truck when the driver, Jason Dirksen, 38, over-corrected and crashed into a ditch. The truck overturned and came to rest in a cornfield. Wampler and Dirksen were flown to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. Neal was dead at the scene.

Investigators believe speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.
