Deputies investigate rash of checkbook thefts

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a group of women it believes are involved in a checkbook theft ring.

Investigators say the group is breaking into cars across the state, including the Miami Valley.

The suspects steal checkbooks and IDs then use them to get cash.

Deputies say the suspects struck in Sugarcreek, Urbana, Springfield and Lebanon as well as targets in Indiana and Kentucky.

Security cameras captured two of the women sought.
