DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man was charged with child endangering after police say he overdosed in a car with his child strapped in a car seat.

A police report says a neighbor spotted the man slumped over in his car in the 1800 block of Gondert Avenue Tuesday.

Medics arrived and had to perform CPR on the man. They also gave him a dose of NARCAN to offset the effects of heroin.

The report says the man’s 3-year-old daughter was in the back seat.

Her grandfather was called to take custody. He told police his son was just granted visitation rights to see his daughter.

Thomas Brown, 25, was treated at the hospital then booked into the Montgomery County Jail on the child endangering charge.
