Watch out for students heading back to school

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) – Keep your eyes peeled as many more little walkers and bike riders will soon be along the roadways. It is back to school time.

Some kids are already back in class. Kettering, Centerville and Huber Heights students started school Wednesday. Other districts will soon follow.

Police are reminding drivers to be on alert for school buses and students crossing the street. Some areas where kids are crossing will be marked with flashing lights. Others will have signs.

Officers say it can take the entire first week of school to get back into a routine.

“Put the phone down, and pay attention, especially when you’re in the zones around the schools and the bus stops in your neighborhood,” said Kettering Police Officer Ron Roberts. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
