Funeral planned for man shot at Beavercreek Walmart

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) – Funeral arrangements are set for the man shot and killed by police at the Beavercreek Walmart.

John Crawford, III, will be remembered Saturday, August 16 at the Inspirational Baptist Church in the Cincinnati community of Forest Park. Funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m.

Police say Crawford was waving a weapon in the store and refused to drop it on command. The gun turned out to be a toy bb gun.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now investigating what happened.

Crawford was a father of two young sons.
