MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WDTN) – Starting Monday, Interstate 70 eastbound to I-75 northbound to US 40 will serve as a detour while crews with the Ohio Department of Transportation replaces the surface of the I-70 eastbound ramp to Airport Access Road.
After speaking with several residents and business owners, there seems to be confusion about how much traffic is coming to the area.
2NEWS went to Vandalia’s Director of Public Service Rob Cron to get answers.
“The amount if traffic out there is not that great that’s it’s going to impact our traffic too much,” said Cron.
Cron said the city is expecting between 3000 to 4000 extra cars per day after the ramp closure.
Which is something business owner Bryan Honeycutt will be relieved to know. He hopes officials keep a close eye on drivers who may be speeding though his city.
“Hopefully that will be maintained. I often notice people going to fast on 40. Like sometimes they go to fast in this parking lot,” laughed Honeycutt.
