TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A decision will soon be made about the future of a Trotwood police officer.

Sgt. Joseph McCrary has been on the force for 22 years. Thursday, his career was put into question when a disciplinary hearing explored allegations of sexual harassment on the job.

McCrary was disciplined in 2009 for making alleged inappropriate comments. Now, the city formally advised him of charges filed against him.

Trotwood  City Manager Michael Lucking says these allegations stem from comments McCrary allegedly made in 2011 and 2012 and the showing of a YouTube video.

McCrary denied the comments, but acknowledged showing the video and said that action was “misconstrued”.

According to Lucking, the video showed a caricature of a female anatomy – more specifically the lower part. Lucking also said he showed the video to Trotwood police officers and female officers were in the group.

The city manager will make a decision regarding discipline for Sgt. McCrary next week.
