MASON, Ohio (WDTN) — Kings Island set another record in its efforts to help in the fight against cancers affecting men, women, and children.

A total of 1,821 people broke the record for the most people putting on lipstick at the same time.

The event was part of the park’s inaugural Kicks Cancer campaign to raise awareness and money for the Pink Ribbon Girls whose mission is to provide support to women and families throughout all phases of the breast cancer journey.

The Guinness Book of Records reports the previous record was achieved by Avon Romania at the lulius Mall in the town of Cluj-Napoca in Romania in March when 1,384 people applied lipstick at the same time.

This is the third record Kings Island has broken in three weeks. Last week, the park topped the record for the most people applying sunscreen simultaneously with 2,148 people. On August 1st, the park broke the head-shaving record at 213 heads shaved.

Park visitors can contribute to the campaign through August 24 by buying a soccer ball for $5 and kicking it into the park fountain for a chance to win at 2015 Honda Fit, courtesy of Performance Kings Honda.

As of Saturday, more than $110,000 has been raised since the campaign began July 25. Net proceeds from the soccer ball sales benefit The Dragonfly Foundation, Melanoma Know More, and Pink Ribbon Girls. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
