DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A church’s flag was ripped from its post, and it isn’t the first time.

Police were called to Lower Miami Church of the Brethren in Dayton.

The pastor said on Thursday, someone turned their Gay Pride rainbow flag upside down. On Saturday, for the second time since being installed in March someone tore it down along with the post.

The pastor said the church voted last year to become open, welcoming everyone in, including homosexuals. She said there are more positive ways for people to share their opinion than vandalism.

“We’re just saddened by this completely,” said Pastor Nan Erbauth. “Because for us, God is love. We’re all about if we disagree let’s talk. But let’s not do this. This is hateful, this is mean, and this is ugly.”

Police are still investigating the crime.
