DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A 56-year-old man was arrested after neighbors reported he was drunk and defecating in the street.

Dale Monnin was arrested on charges of public indecency.

Police were called to Katie’s Place located at 2264 East Fifth Street after 6 p.m. after neighbors reported a highly intoxicated man took off his pants and defecated on the ground.

When officers arrived, they said they found Monnin sitting in the driver seat putting on cowboy boots with the car door open. Officers also stated they observed two pairs of defecated underwear and several open beer cans in the backseat.

Police said when they met with Monnin, his eyes were bloodshot, he was slurring his speech, and they could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

Officers spoke with neighbors. A woman and her 12-year-old son reported they saw Monnin take his pants off, defecate near his vehicle, and then take off his underwear and wipe himself with it. Neighbors said Monnin was then stumbling around in the parking lot and exposing his private parts.

Police arrested Monnin for indecent exposure. They said when they were placing Monnin in handcuffs, they observed he had defecated on the back side of his jeans and on his cowboy boots.

Officers observed feces along the driver door of Monnin’s vehicle and smeared along the side of wood against the building.

Monnin was also issued minor misdemeanors for public intoxication and having an open container. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
